Following the outbreak of Covid 19 around the world all Insurers are giving very careful consideration to the policy wordings that they provide and are making changes to policy wordings to ensure that the intention of their policy wordings are clear and unambiguous, especially in the light if the recent FCA Business Interruption test case.
The Insurers for the Swimsure policy, Allianz Insurance plc, are no exception to this and with effect from 1st October 2020 for new business policies and from 25th October 2020 for renewals, two new clauses will be added to the policy. They are
1) A General Exclusion for Contagious and Infectious Disease. The Extension for Business Interruption cover in respect of “Specified Illness” is rewritten.
2) Under the Public and Products Liability Section a Communicable disease exclusion will be applied
